Homemade Lemonade Recipe
My special lemonade is one of my family’s most requested recipes. Even when someone else is making it, I am asked to provide the exact ratios because apparently it just has to be exactly the same every time. This lemonade is not overly sweet and has a pinch of salt to balance it out..
My family gets a little extra cheerful whenever I make this old-fashioned lemonade recipe, Made with the perfect ratio of lemon juice, sugar and water. Thankfully, we are blessed with a very bushy and productive lemon tree.
Making lemonade is one of my kids’ favorite activity! Big cheers are usually in order when I ask: Do you want to make lemonade today?
Lemonade tips:
- You can make lemonade even if all you have is a few lemons. The golden ratio for the lemonade base is: Equal parts: Lemon juice, sugar, and hot water. Then multiply what you get from your base by 3. For example for a single serving: 1/4 cup lemonade base to 3/4 cups cold water over ice.
- You can refrigerate the lemonade base to save room in your fridge and add water or sparkling water every time you make a fresh glass.
- Or make a whole batch at once and freeze extra lemonade to enjoy the most delicious popsicles!
