Summer
“Learn this lesson from the fig tree. As soon as its twigs become tender and its leaves begin to sprout, you know that summer is near.
(Matthew 24:32, New American Bible, Revised Edition)
Summer
Who ever coined the term lazy summer must not have been a gardener. Summer is the pinnacle with juicy plums, vine ripened tomatoes, and castles made of beans lined by majestic sunflowers. There is no time for idling if one is to experience the delight of a truly delectable summer!
Summertime is the culmination of a full year’s worth of work toiling the soil, sowing seeds, careful watering and watching for pests all to enjoy the pleasure of the season that lasts all year in our hearts and minds as we enjoy delicious preserves yearlong for the impetus to start all over again in the fall.
Sincerely,
Laura
