Growing Greens
Greens should be planted in the fall (September) and can be enjoyed all winter, many will go to seed in late spring.
Greens are easy to grow and are ready to harvest 40 days after sprouting It is important yo know your greens before choosing which seeds to sow.

Many medicinal plants are in the Asteraceae plant family and many of them such as dill, chamomile, calendula, and marigolds will deter pests such as aphids and nematodes from vegetables when planted near by.- Arugula

BRASSICAEA FAMILY
Brassicas are a family of greens which attract aphids, an invasive fly like pest which makes growing them organically very difficult. Due to the difficulty with pests, growing brassicas may be challenging for novice gardeners, however planting brassicas alongside onions, marigolds, chamomile, dill, sage, and thyme deters aphids and other pests.- Kale
