August Plum Harvest, 2019

Autumn is only a moon away and soon it will be the start of a whole new year for every gardener. Autumn brings new hopes, dreams, and gratitude for this beautiful year along with the joy of savoring it until the next.

Soon we are starting all over again: October 1st we start the seeds for our winter greens and plant our biggest garlic cloves to harvest in July.

This week in the garden we picked the last of our plums. We have four plum varieties: Our first plum tree fruits the first week of July, the second mid August, and the third is ready the final week of August.

So all these plums become plum jam, plum tortes, plum sangria, and gifts for our friends and family.
